I visited Sunset Beach in Huntington Beach California before the summer vacation season started. There were only a few surfers on the beach in the morning hours.
Snowy Plover
On the left: Marbled Godwits have straight pink and dark bills.
On the right: Long-billed Curlew has a long curved bill.

Some Dolphins showed up. These surfers were smiling because everybody likes dolphins. They were probably also relieved that it was dolphins and not sharks! The beach was quiet and peaceful when I was there. It’s probably a bit busier during summer vacation.
